afmetalsmithI got a lot done today, all told.
Soldering the filigree is hard on my eyes, because it's SO small and delicate! When I'm forming it I use an optivisor, but when I'm soldering the viewing field of that gets me a bit too close to the flame, so I end up squinting a lot.
So I made soldering progress on snowflake #2, and a signet ring, and a frame for a filigree-fronted locket, and the lapis settings for the new lotus earrings...
I also started a ring for a community I'm in, which has a "challenge" every month. I didn't get around to doing anything for the first month, but this month it's a ring with hammered texture, and i want to combine it with filigree. I finally came up with a design, and it's not too elaborate (amazing!), so there is some chance it'll actually get done by the end of the month. :)
