I spent today in the thrill-a-minute process of cleaning up enamels, mostly.

The sunburst/mum pendant is getting close to finished, at least as far as the enameling goes. The experimental copper/plique earring drops are ready for assembling into actual earrings. And the lotus plique earrings have had their initial clean-up done, so it's now a matter of finishing them.

I also fused another 60+ rings for my necklace, and processed the previous 100+ ones to remove any that didn't fuse or that had gotten funky. I am now well over half done with the fusing for this necklace, and am pretty proud of that!

I have been having some angst about it, though, wishing that I'd planned a gold stripe down the middle of the thing... and then I calculated out the amount of gold needed if I did that, and it's about 2.5 oz. This is something like $1500+, and explains why I didn't choose to do it thus initially. :)

I have moments like that. "Wouldn't it be great if I gold-leafed this mask, and then wove gold wire through it?" Um, $$$$$$$$$$, no.
