I have decided I very much like the "hugs & kisses" characterization of my current loop-in-loop bracelet, and I will be adorning the catch to reflect the theme.

I am also debating 1. making one in gold, with a simpler yet still "hugs & kisses" catch; and 2. if yes to gold, whether to use 14k (stronger) or 18k (prettier). Decisions...

...And I had an idea w while back for some jewelry that would be perfect for Valentine's day, and it does not look like I'll be able to make it for that. Not even a sample. Grr.

I vote for both! Make the Xs in one and the Os in the other. :)

The chain itself looks like Xs and Os, so I want to do a catch that works with that.

I've decided to start with a 14k version, and maybe make an 18k one sometime in the future. 14k gold is sturdier, and so rather more appropriate for a bracelet, anyway.

I'm a big fan of strong.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided to go with the 14k. It'll keep the price down a bit, too- plus I can get paste solder for 14k, and that will be LOVELY since I can't fuse the stuff, and this pattern is really designed for fused links. Paste solder gives an easier and nicer look when soldering stuff like links and jump rings, since one needs hardly any and it's easier to get that little with the paste.

I'm also thinking that with the theme what it is, it's probably a bracelet someone would wear more often rather than just on special occasions.

Thanks for the input- it helped!

Once I finish the silver one with the more elaborate catch, I'll post pictures, and/or put it up on Etsy. It's been a while since I've had something really new and nifty up there!
