Feb. 2nd, 2009 08:35 pmSince it is Imbolc/Candlemas, I had the notion of making a Brigid's Cross in silver to honor the day.
I was semi-successful.
Attempt #1 did NOT work with metal, so I scrapped it.
Attempt #2 worked OK with metal, but I screwed it up, so it too was scrapped.
Attempt #3 seems to be the turning point. I have about half of the thing made, and will finish it in the next few days. I;d hoped that I could weave the whole thing and then at the end add a bit of solder to keep everything in line; it turns out that I need to solder periodically to keep everything from getting wonky. OK, whatever... but it did slow down the process.
I'm contemplating sending the finished pendant off to be cast; so far it's looking really pretty.
