Since it is Imbolc/Candlemas, I had the notion of making a Brigid's Cross in silver to honor the day.

I was semi-successful.

Attempt #1 did NOT work with metal, so I scrapped it.

Attempt #2 worked OK with metal, but I screwed it up, so it too was scrapped.

Attempt #3 seems to be the turning point. I have about half of the thing made, and will finish it in the next few days. I;d hoped that I could weave the whole thing and then at the end add a bit of solder to keep everything in line; it turns out that I need to solder periodically to keep everything from getting wonky. OK, whatever... but it did slow down the process.

I'm contemplating sending the finished pendant off to be cast; so far it's looking really pretty.

I'm eager to see this. Mine was off the cuff and I'd like to do another that's more intentional and captures the shape better.

Happy Imbolc!

Attempt #3 is pretty much done in terms of the basic construction. Plus I learned from it how to do BC4.0 which will be better... but nonetheless, I'll finish 3.0, because I expect to learn things from the finishing.

I think 4.0 will be the one I send for casting, though, if I send any one for casting.

Pictures when it looks less stupid. :)
