A busy day today! I finished some commission and order work- that's always gratifying.

And I also posted my St. Brigid's Cross pendant on Etsy- see it here.

I think this one turned out very nicely. I'm thinking, though, of making another, slightly smaller (maybe 1-1.25 inches across), and using that as a master for some cast versions.

that's gorgeous - was having fun browsing through your Etsy store.. do you know if there's a good way of making adjustable/resizable rings? Forest and I still haven't replaced our handfasting rings because I've been dropping weight and he's put some on since giving up the smokes, and it occured to me something simple like your trinket ring designs would be a perfect temporary solution, but only if I could make it so I'd not lose the thing next time I've dropped more weight, still heartbroken about losing my ring... In an ideal world I'd commission something fab off you but for now i want simple and adaptable..

There's basically 2 versions of adjustable rings that I think work well.

One has a continuous band, but it's shaped into a sort of S-shape on the back. This allows it to be expanded if that's necessary, or contracted if that is, by loosening or tightening the S-curves.

The other has a band cut in the back with some overlap, allowing pretty easy expanding or contracting as finger sizes change. When I do this, I design in some overlap, which helps the comfort level in wear. Ideally the client will supply me with the largest size they need, the normal one (which is what I'll make), and maybe a smaller one- though the latter isn't as necessary, since it's not hard to get rings to have a bit more overlap.

Thank you! I'm pretty pleased with it. I'd started something like 3 others, but they weren't turning out right so I scrapped them. This one, though, looks like what I'd envisioned.

I think if I'm going to get some cast, though, a somewhat smaller one would be better.

I love your work. And I really love your designs.

Would you mind if I cut stamps from some of your designs (especially the triskele and the knotwork ones) and use those to make cards to send out? Obviously I'd refer the recipients to your website as the source of the designs!
(And I'd be happy to send you the stamp after I made 10 cards off it too!)

Yeah, I think in this case individuality is most of the charm. Would be like taking a cast of a basket, I've seen it done but it doesn't quite work as well.

Oh, I agree! but the labor in the individually-made ones adds up- though I think I've come up with a pretty efficient system for it.

I'm hoping that cast versions can be made smaller (without driving me mad, except for once), and maybe decently cheaper.
